Jeffrey Ecker

Jeffrey Ecker, 41, CBS program practices exec, died suddenly Aug. 13 in Santa Monica. Cause of death was not reported.

Ecker, who graduated from UCLA with a recording/engineering degree, worked as a keyboard artist and band singer and was later the manager of recording artist Diane Davidson.

In the early ’80s, he was an assistant to actor Judd Hirsch and a dialogue coach on “Taxi” for Zandu Prods. and Paramount. During this time he also evaluated scripts and literary projects for stage, film and television development. He went on to become associate producer and director of operations at New Zoo Revue Corp., where he was responsible for production and syndication of television series, domestic and foreign sales, and licensing.

Survived by two brothers, Joel and John, and a sister, Judy.

Service will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 21 at Inglewood Cemetery Mortuary, 3801 West Manchester Blvd., Inglewood.
