Harry Bellaver

Harry Bellaver, 88, film, TV and stage actor who played Sgt. Arcaro on the 1960s series “Naked City,” died Aug. 8 of pneumonia.

From 1964 to 1969, Bellaver played Ernie Downs on the soap opera “Another World.”

He appeared in the movies “From Here to Eternity” and “The Old Man and the Sea.” His Broadway roles include Chief Sitting Bull in “Annie Get Your Gun” and the coach in “That Championship Season.”

In the 1930s, as a member of the Group Theater in New York City, he helped found Actors’ Equity.
