Bill Lee has rejoined MGM Intl. TV Distribution as VP of worldwide pay TV. He returns after a two-year stint as the London-based director of sales and new business development for UIP Pay TV, a partnership of MGM, Paramount and Universal.
Independent producer Tony Berg has joined Geffen Records as a director of A&R. Berg’s credits include producing albums for Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, Michael Penn, X, and Wendy & Lisa, among others.
Evan Lamberg has been named VP creative (East Coast) for EMI Music Publishing. Lamberg will oversee the company’s entire New York writer/artist roster and the firm’s creative staff. He will also sign new acts and writers.
L. Randall Yates has joined Nielsen Media Research in the newly created position of marketing veepee. He previously served as prexy of Whitehall Laboratories, where he directed launch and marketing of consumer products.
Rusty Mintz has been upped to director of research for Warner Bros. Media Research from his post as manager. He joined WB-predecessor Lorimar Telepictures as a junior research analyst in August 1987.
Michael (M.J.) La Vaccare has been promoted to director of scheduling at Fox Broadcasting Co., having been a manager in that area since April 1989. La Vaccare joined Fox as a production clerk in 1989. Rebecca A. Swett was upped to director of affiliate relations at Fox, having been associate director since March.
