Josh Elbaum has joined MGM International TV Distribution as VP, overseeing sales of movies and TV product, supervising daily operations and assisting president Gary Marenzi in strategic planning. Elbaum was most recently VP of international sales for the ITC Entertainment Group and is the third hire by Marenzi since he took over international at MGM in September.

The others were VP of TV sales Gilberte de Turenne and VP of worldwide pay TV Bill Lee.

Lori Openden has been promoted to senior VP, talent and casting at NBC, having been VP in that area since 1989. Openden will continue to report to entertainment president Warren Littlefield.

Courtney S. Blum has joined Action Media Group’s New York office as an account executive. Blum formerly worked for the Paramount Company, where he served as sales planner for the Premier Advertiser Sales division.

Kevin Hall has been appointed creative manager of urban music at Polygram Music Publishing. He will report to Michael Sandoval, VP creative. Hall was formerly an artist manager in Los Angeles.

Gregory (Jonathon) Barbato has been upped to the newly created position of veep, advertising & promotion, Genesis Entertainment, overseeing the production of all print and video marketing campaigns. Barbato previously was Genesis’ director, advertising & promotion.

Diane Julin Chavez has been appointed director of business and legal affairs for Twentieth Television’s Domestic Television division. Previously, Chavez worked for Paramount Pictures’ Domestic Television division.
