Leila Winick has been named president of Western Intl. Media’s newly created multiethnic group, the company’s newest media buying and planning division.She most recently served as senior VP/general manager of Ad Americas, a DBC Advertising subsid. Alan Voss has been named senior VP of sales for EastWest Records. He was formerly the VP of sales at the company and will be based in New York. New York-based Spanish-lingo TV net Telemundo Group Inc. has appointed Jose A. Ronstadt general manager and senior veepee of KVEA-TV, Channel 52, in Los Angeles. Ronstadt’s was previously exec producer and host of “Hola America,” a daily national show on Univision. Before that, he was VP/general manager of Spanish-lingo KTVW-TV in Phoenix. Robert Friedman has been upped to VP of marketing and ancillary sales for Viacom Entertainment Group. He joined the company in June 1991 as director of special projects/marketing. Debbie Stasson has joined TriStar TV as senior VP, business affairs, negotiating talent deals, license fees and rights acquisitions. Stasson previously spent 4 1/2 years as VP of business affairs at now-defunct Orion TV Entertainment and before that was director of legal affairs at Walt Disney TV. Donald Thoms has been named director of program management at PBS, effective in mid-July, overseeing packaging of program acquisitions for PBS’ national schedule and coordinating various program initiatives. Thoms, who is currently director of regional productions at Maryland Public Television, succeeds Bruce Mundt, who moved last year to New York pubcaster WNET.
