Alf Bold

Alf Bold, 47, a member of the selection and programming committee of the Intl.

Forum of Young Cinema sidebar of the Berlin Film Festival, died Aug. 18 in Berlin of AIDS.

Bold was active in developing the programming of Berlin’s Arsenal Kino for more than 20 years, and played a leading role in establishing that cinema’s reputation as one of Europe’s leading showplaces for experimental and avant-garde filmmaking.

Survived by two sisters and a brother.
