Alan Harris-Quelch

Alan Harris-Quelch, 65, longtime British exhibitor, died July 29 in Spain following an intestinal operation.

He joined Britain’s Rank circuit in 1944, and after managing various suburban and provincial cinemas was appointed general manager of the Rank flagship, the Odeon Leicester Square, in 1976.

He held that post until he took early retirement in 1989 and moved to Spain.

Survived by his wife, Pat, and two daughters.
