Harris Maslansky, who structured investments for such television fare as “Dallas” and “Knots Landing,” has joined New York-based indie Savoy Pictures as senior VP of business affairs.
He will oversee negotiations and structuring of Savoy’s film acquisition and distribution deals. He’ll also be involved in licensing arrangements for domestic and international markets.
He will be working with Alan Greisman, prexy of Savoy’s motion picture division, as well as legal affairs senior VP Jessica Roddy.
After joining Columbia Pictures in the late 1970s as East Coast VP for business affairs, Maslansky became president of the Time Life Films Motion Picture Division.
Savoy’s upcoming pics include the Anthony Hopkins-starrer “Shadowlands,” John Waters’ “Serial Mom” and “Lightning Jack.”
