Lange named to KNBC job

Steve Lange has been named to a new high-level management post at KNBC-TV news, marking the first hire by recently appointed station VP-news director Mark Hoffman.

Lange, who also served a stint in New York, will join the L.A. station tomorrow as either assistant news director or executive editor.

The appointment represents an expansion of news management, with the current team expected to remain in place.

Like Hoffman, Lange comes to KNBC from the CBS O&O in Chicago, WBBM-TV, where he was an exec producer of news.

He had already resigned from the CBS station to pursue a job in Los Angeles when he was hired by Hoffman.
