Chrysalis Music upped finance director David Ellman to VP/general manager. Ellman, formerly with the Record Plant and Dick Clark Prods., will oversee daily operations in addition to his financial duties.

RHI Entertainment named Anthony W. Guido senior VP, legal and business affairs, and Timothy Clyne VP-controller. Guido assumes his new post after three years at Viacom Intl., while Clyne spent the past five years at Sotheby’s Holdings.

David R. O’Dell has been named VP in charge of creative affairs at ABC/Kane Prods. He remains exec in charge of production for the ABC unit’s “World of Discovery” documentary specials.

Canadian Satellite Communications Inc. named Alain Gourd president and chief executive, effective Jan. 10. Gourd held a civil service post with the Canadian government for 10 years following a career in broadcasting. He replaces Sheelagh Whittaker, who resigned.

Playboy Entertainment Group promoted Rebecca Metschke to VP, affiliate marketing, pay TV.

Michael (Moe) Ginsberg was named creative director at production org Electric Ideas. His background includes Steve Sohmer Inc., Walt Disney Studios, NBC-TV, ABC-TV and CBS/Fox Video.

Michael Vertz, formerly of 20th Century Fox Film Corp., was named account supervisor at media-buying org Western Intl. Media.
