Multimedia Inc. said J. William Grimes resigned as chief executive and president. Grimes is credited with the early success of sports cabler ESPN.

Walter E. Bartlett, who said “differences existed with Grimes,” will succeed Grimes and Donald D. Sbarra, senior VP, will assume responsibilities for the operating divisions of the company. Multimedia produces the “Donahue” and “Sally Jessy Raphael” talkshows.

Bobby G. Jenkins was named executive VP and chief financial officer of Marvel Entertainment Group Inc. He was assistant VP of finance at Turner Broadcasting System. He succeeds James T. Wilson, who was named executive VP of finance.

Kristy Salata Bremer has been named VP of corporate communications for the praisery Pryor & Associates. She was an account exec for the Lippin Group.

Blake Bryant has been upped to director of creative services for KCAL-TV. He joined the Disney-owned station in September 1989 as its first art director.
