Baumgarten moves on

Management/production outfit Addis & Wechsler has hired manager Spencer Baumgarten, who ankled his position at Phyllis Carlyle Management.

Among the clients Baumgarten is bringing to his new shop are British helmer Brian Grant, “House Party 3” writer Takashi Bufford, helmer Craig Baxley (“Stone Cold,” the NBC telepic “A Family Torn Apart”), producer Larry Turman’s son John, who is prepping an actioner, and writer/director Steve Klayman.

In addition, Baumgarten will collaborate with agency partner Nick Wechsler on some of that outfit’s lit and helmer clients, including Michael Tolkin, Jonathan Kaplan, Peter Medak, Paul Mones, helmer Leslie Glatter and Nick Gomez.

While at Carlyle, Baumgarten signed “Demolition Man” helmer Marco Brambilla, in addition to working on accounts like that of “Benny & Joon” director Jeremiah Chechik and director Paul Anderson, who will be at Sundance in January with the feature “Shopping.”
