Members of the National Education Assn. and UCLA Graduate School of Education faculty have drafted standards and guidelines for children’s programming — the product of a two-day seminar hosted by DIC Entertainment.

The code will be made available to producers of children’s programming.

Whitney Houston will be honored as Entertainer of the Year at the Image Awards, presented by the National Assn. for the Advance of Colored People. Event is skedded Jan. 5 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and will be taped for broadcast at 11:30 p.m. Jan. 22 on NBC. Hall of Fame Awards will go to Maurice White and Earth, Wind & Fire, the Pointer Sisters and Curtis Mayfield. Rep. Kweisi Mfume (D-Maryland), chairman of the congressional Black Caucus, will receive the Chairman’s Award.
