Polygram president/CEO Alain Levy will receive the Spirit of Life Award from the City of Hope’s Music & Entertainment Industry Chapter at its annual fund-raising dinner in September.
The City of Hope is a non-profit medical and research center that treats and researches major diseases.
Each year the Music & Entertainment Chapter honors a music executive. Past honorees include Michael Dornemann, BMG chairman/CEO, MCA Music Entertainment Group chairman Al Teller and Arista chairman Clive Davis.
“I am honored to be involved with the City of Hope,” said Levy. “I feel it is extremely important for the entertainment industry to assist in the fight against AIDS and other diseases and to give hope to the millions of people around the world suffering from these diseases.”
Kick-off luncheons will be held in L.A. and New York in April to start the fund-raising drive.
In addition, the Music City Celebrity Softball Challenge benefiting City of Hope will take place June 6 at Greer Stadium in Nashville.
