Elektra Entertainment has promoted Jon Leshay to senior VP of promotion, replacing Rick Alden, who exits after 15 years with the label.
Leshay, formerly VP alternative/video promotion for Elektra, spearheaded the label’s success with the Cure, Billy Bragg, Frank Black, 10,000 Maniacs and Bjork. He joined Elektra in 1990 as director of national promotion.
“Jon has done a superb job of heading Elektra’s alternative and video promotion departments,” said David Bither, Elektra’s senior VP and general manager. “We look forward to the contributions his wide-ranging musical knowledge and energy will bring to this new position.”
