EMI Records Group continued its upper-management revamp yesterday, naming Fred Davis executive VP and Ken Lane senior VP, promotion.
Appointments come in the wake of Charles Koppelman’s rise to chairman/CEO of EMI Records Group North America, the um-brella that combined EMI Records Group with units previously under the purview of Joe Smith, Capitol-EMI CEO, who will be leaving the company April 1 (Daily Variety, Jan. 7).
EMI Records Group has since shuffled its executive lineup in the wake of Koppelman’s appointment.
Davis will continue to concentrate on the SBK, Chrysalis and EMI Records repertoire as well as the management of ERG. He willreport to ERG president Daniel Glass. He was formerly a senior VP, A&R, for EMI Records Group.
Lane will oversee contemporary hit radio, album-oriented radio, video, alternative music, adult contemporary and club promotion for the EMI, SBK and Chrysalis labels. He will also report to Glass. He was formerly VP of promotion for EMI Records Group.
