Jerry Crutchfield was tapped yesterday as president of MCA Music Publishing/Nashville.

Crutchfield, a top producer and former executive VP of Liberty Records, will oversee all aspects of the Nashville operation. He will re-port to John McKellen , president of MCA Music Publishing Worldwide.

As part of his deal, Crutchfield will continue to produce several artists per year, including Tanya Tucker, with whom he has worked since the early 1970s.

Crutchfield formerly worked at MCA Music Publishing in Nashville before leaving for Liberty. During that time, the unit was named country publisher of the year by the American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers.
