Footage of Madonna’s only appearance on public-access TV, coverage of the three-day Madonna Expo, and an exclusive look at why the editor of the Madonna fanzine “Justify My Life” broke ranks with the official Madonna Fan Club are some of the topics that will be explored on a new public access show, “All About Madonna.”
The series, devoted exclusively to chronicling the excesses and antics of the performer and her fans, is slated to bow this September on Continental Cablevision and Century Cable in Los Angeles, as well as Manhattan Cable in New York.
Hosted by Laurie Pike, a former entertainment reporter for Fox News in Los Angeles, “All AboutMadonna” will feature talk segments and magazine-style pieces. Segments will feature everything from a man whose hair Madonna touched to the restaurants she’s frequented. Pike recently met Madonna at a party and sent her a note about the show; Pike feels the fascinating thing about the star is how she inspires such disparate responses from her fans. She also thinks the show won’t become tiresome because of the many and varied forms of devotion Madonna’s fans exhibit.
Said Pike, “She’s so versatile as a topic. She’s like a potato, you can make french fries or scalloped potatoes out of her.”
