A cross-section of new and veteran Hollywood stars, including Candice Bergen, Warren Beatty, Roseanne and Tom Arnold, Kirk Douglas, Anthony Hopkins, Jay Leno, Sidney Poitier, Michele Lee, Jack Lemmon, Gregory Peck, Robert Stack and Dick Van Dyke, have been lined up by producer Pierre Cossette to participate in the gala charity benefit honoring Army Archerd for his 40 years as a columnist with Daily Variety.
Three of Archerd’s favorite charities will benefit from funds raised at the event on Friday, Jan. 29.
The three include the Concern Foundation for Cancer Research, which raises more than $ 1 million a year for research grants to scientists in the areas of cancer immunology and immunotherapy; ERAS Center, which operates a model community center in Culver City for emotionally and mentally disabled children and young adults; and Victoria Village, which operates a residential facility and vocational program for developmentally disabled adults.
The black-tie event at the Beverly Hilton Hotel begins with cocktails at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and entertainment at 7:30. Tables of 10 with preferred seating are available at the $ 25,000, $ 10,000 and $ 5,000 levels. Individual tickets are available for $ 300. Marty Golden serves as the event chairperson.
