KROQ suspends DJ ‘Poorman’

Popular L.A. disc jockey Jim “Poorman” Trenton has been suspended by alternative music station KROQ.

Trenton was put on ice after walking out while hosting Tuesday night’s “Loveline,” the No. 1 radio shift in L.A. in its 10-12 p.m. time slot.

The suspension will run through at least Feb. 16. Meanwhile, “Loveline” is being fronted by Tami Heidi, KROQ’s 6-10 p.m. disc jockey.

A source close to Trenton blamed “behind the scenes tension” between Trenton and station management.

Representatives from Infinity Broadcasting, the station’s owner, couldn’t be reached for comment.
