Roberta Segel, widow of former Reed Publishing U.S.A. chairman Ronald Segel, was honored last night by the Concern Foundation for Cancer Research and Hebrew U. of Jerusalem.
A perpetual scholarship for a post-doctoral fellow in cancer research has been established in her late husband’s name at the Lautenberg Center for General and Tumor Immunology in Jerusalem.
Dr. Wilbur Schwartz, past president of the Concern Foundation for Cancer Research, presented Roberta Segel with a scroll in honor of the grant at a ceremony at Chasen’s restaurant.
Among those in attendance were Robert Krakoff, current chairman and CEO of Reed Publishing U.S.A., and his wife, Sandra.
The fund is being endowed, in part, by proceeds from tonight’s benefit gala honoring Army Archerd’s 40th anniversary as a columnist for Daily Variety.
