Clint Black, Jody Watley and Garry Shandling will announce the nominations for the National Assn. of Recording Arts & Sciences’ 36th annual Grammy Awards. NARAS president Mike Greene will join the trio in announcing the nods from the Universal Hilton on Jan. 6.

The Grammys will be hosted by Shandling and telecast live on CBS from Radio City Music Hall in New York on March 1.

ABC Entertainment will fund the world premiere of the play “A Life of Crime,” written by Mel Shapiro and directed by Kim Friedman. The drama, presented by the UCLA School of Theater, Film & Television, explores ethical, moral, sexual and racial issues in the lives of two L.A. cops. It runs Jan. 19-30 at the Macgowan Hall Little Theater at UCLA.

George Carlin will headline Fox Broadcasting Co.’s “New Year’s Eve ’94” special from 11 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Sinbad, Bobcat Goldthwait, Penn & Teller, and Carrot Top will appear.
