Continuing to fill its film distribution pipeline with product, Academy Entertainment has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Percy Adlon’s “Younger & Younger” from the Kushner-Locke Co.
“Younger & Younger,” which will have its world premiere in competition at the Tokyo Film Festival, was directed, co-written and co-produced by Adlon (“Bagdad Cafe”).
The romantic fantasy about eternal love stars Donald Sutherland, Lolita Davidovich, Brendan Fraser and Sally Kellerman.
While Academy Entertainment officials would not divulge financial details of the acquisition, sources speculated that the company paid close to $ 500,000 for the rights to “Younger & Younger.”
Sources also said that the film was screened for a number of companies, including New Line, Fine Line and Miramax, before ending up at Academy.
According to M.J. Peckos, Academy’s VP of marketing and theatrical distribution, “Younger & Younger,” will probably unspool late this year and will be platformed in two to three cities, including Los Angeles and New York.
