As part of a special Valentine’s Day show and benefit for the City of Hope, the Laugh Factory will award prizes to the authors of the three most humorous love letters in a special performance at the comedy club at 8 p.m. Sunday. Prizes to be awarded include a $ 5,000 Laugh Factory gift certificate.

All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the City of Hope.

The Cinema Audio will celebrate its 27th annual awards dinner dance Feb. 27 at the Sheraton Universal Hotel. The event is to honor Academy Award nominees for sound and winners of sound Emmy Awards. The Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be actor Brion James, who most recently appeared in “The Player.” The society’s Life Achievement Award will also be presented to John Bonner, chief of Audio Engineering of Warner Hollywood Studios.

Seeking “to blaze a trail against any and all neo-Nazi tendencies,” and to honor late actor Conrad Veidt, the Berlin International Film Festival is holding a special unspooling of helmer Lothar Mandes’ “Jew Suss,” starring Veidt. The actor would have been 100 years old this year and 1993 marks the 50th anni of his death.

NBC stars Deidre Hall and Paul Reiser will host the ninth annual “Soap Opera Digest Awards,” a two-hour special that will air Feb. 26 on the Peacock network. The awards, presented in 16 categories, are produced by Dick Clark Prods.
