Final judging for the 45th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be held in all-day sessions Saturday and Sunday at the BevHilton Hotel. More than 800 panelists will participate in the peer-group judging.

Awards are given Sept. 18-19 in Pasadena. ABC televises Sept. 19.

Sherman Oaks-based improv troupe L.A. Connection has signed with Arts & Entertainment to produce an hourlong special with an option for up to 12 more. The Nov. 18 special “Movie Madness Mystery With the L.A. Connection” will feature a dubbed version of 1945 Sherlock Holmes pic “The Woman in Green.”

Sting, Spin Doctors, Lenny Kravitz and Naughty by Nature will perform at the MTV Video Music Awards Sept. 2 at the Universal Amphitheatre. Peter Gabriel, Sharon Stone and RuPaul will be presenters.

Isaac Hayes and Red Buttons have joined Nicolas Cage, Bridget Fonda and Rosie Perez in TriStar’s “Cop Gives Waitress $ 2 Million Tip.”
