Sharon Gless and Charlton Heston will assist in the announcement of Primetime Emmy Awards nominations at 5:30 a.m. Thursday. The event will be covered live by the network morning shows, CNN and E! Entertainment Television.

NBC Sports has signed a five-year agreement extending its broadcast rights on horse racing’s Breeders’ Cup through 1999. The extension takes hold after next year’s race and calls for the next seven races to be broadcast live.
