Agency for the Performing Arts has signed writer-director-producer Tony Chan, whose “Combination Platter” received this year’s Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the Sundance Film Festival. He will be represented by David Saunders in Los Angeles and Michael Bennehum in N.Y.

In a step to halt vidcassette piracy, Vidmark Entertainment has reached an agreement with Macrovision to protect future Vidmark rental titles. The first title to use Macrovision’s AntiCopy Process is Trimark Pictures’ “Leprechaun,” which will be released April 28.

The USA Film Festival has named actor Richard Harris the recipient of the 1993 Master Screen Artist Award. The award will be presented at a film tribute April 24 during the 23rd annual USA fest, April 22-28.

Vital Options, the nation’s only emotional support organization for young adults with cancer, will honor comedian Harvey Korman with its “Vital Spirit” award at the Beverly Hilton Hotel April 24. Presenter will be “L.A. Law” co-star Jill Eikenberry. In addition to being honored for his work with the support group, Korman will be roasted by some of his longtime TV cronies including Carol Burnett, Vicki Lawrence, Tim Conway and Tom Poston, Pat McCormick and Jerry Van Dyke.
