Propaganda inks Proyas

Propaganda Films has renewed its deal with director Alex Proyas and his Sydney-based company Meaningful Eye Contact to exclusively represent Proyas for commercials and musicvideos worldwide.

Both companies expect to develop a number of projects for Proyas to direct.

Meaningful Eye Contact’s exec producer Andrew Mason will produce via Propaganda.

Proyas helmed musicvideos for such artists as INXS and Crowded House before making his directorial feature debut in ’87 with “Spirits.” He has directed commercials for Nike and Coke and is currently in production in North Carolina on the feature “The Crow,” a Gothic thriller he’s directing for Edward R. Pressman Prods. (a Paramount release for August).

Propaganda’s co-founder Joni Sighvatsson says Proyas’ “ability to create powerful images will be valued across the board in each of our divisions, and his growth as a feature film director makes this an even more welcome homecoming.”
