In addition to his director of the year honor from NATO/ShoWest, Clint Eastwood will receive the Motion Picture Showmanship Award at the Publicists Guild of America’s 30th annual awards luncheon.
“Eastwood is being recognized for his extraordinary showmanship as one of the most successful filmmakers in Hollywood,” said Henri Bollinger, PGA prexy.
Bollinger said that Eastwood’s close working relationship with publicists on all of his films is also being recognized with this award.
The awards event, skedded for March 26, will be held at the Universal Sheraton Hotel.
The NATO/ShoWest award, recognizing Eastwood’s film “Unforgiven,” will be presented during the final night awards banquet on March 11 at Bally’s Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Separately, SoCal Cinemas manager Sherry Gartley won the NATO/ShoWest Customer Service Award for 1993.
Gartley, manager of SoCal Cinemas’ Cinemapolis multiplex in Anaheim, was recognized for the theaters’ Cinemapolis Screening Room Program, which featured menu service from the theaters’ Cafe Bar and discussions by filmmakers and film industry exex.
