Showing its support for emerging technologies, Paramount Pictures has chosen several of its top-line theatrical titles to be released on CD-I by Philips N.V. in coming months.
Keith Schaefer, Paramount Interactive prez, announced the titles at the New Technology Super Session Sunday at the Video Software Dealers Assn. confab.
“The Firm,””Indecent Proposal,””Top Gun,””Patriot Games” and the first two “Beverly Hills Cop” pix are among the 18 titles selected for release.
Modest sales of the hardware have prompted Philips to relaunch the format, touting the next generation of machines, due out sometime in spring ’94, as being the units consumers will embrace. The newer units will deliver full-screen , full-motion video and will be compatible with big-screen and high-definition TV.
