Librarian of Congress James Billington will unveil 25 new films to be included on the historic National Film Registry list Dec. 14 at the Library of Congress’s Mary Pickford Theater. Registry pix are recognized for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically” significant, and the selections are made after extensive consultation with the National Film Preservation Board. The 25 new films will bring to 125 the number of pix on the Registry.
