Lantz gives Acad $50G

Walter Lantz, creator of Woody Woodpecker, Andy Panda, Chilly Willy and other well-known animated characters, has made a $ 50,000 contribution to the endowment fund for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences’ Center for Motion Picture Study.

The endowment fund campaign will support operations of the center, which houses the Margaret Herrick Library, the Academy Film Archive and the Photographic Stills Archive.
