The public offering of shares in Paul Hogan’s next film, “Lightning Jack,” raised $ A36 million ($ 24.84 million) and will be listed on the Australian Stock Exchange today. The units are set to be traded in the U.S. via American Depository Receipts (ADR) some time in October.
Biggest investors among the 5,800 unit holders are Village Roadshow and interests connected with Hogan himself, holding a total of 2.35 million shares ( 6.53%), but the third-largest emerged as West Australian gold miner Samantha Gold NL, which took a 5.56% stake. The Prudential Assurance Co. holds 4.67%.
Helmed by Simon Wincer (“Free Willy”), production starts Saturday with exteriors in New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado. Interiors are to be shot in Oz at the Warner Roadshow Movie World Studios beginning Oct. 9.
