Orion Pictures is certainly back in business.
The once-bankrupt indie is shelling out sizable paychecks to its top executives, according to Hollywood standards.
According to a filing with the Securities & Exchange Commission, Orion president and CEO Leonard White was paid $ 1.87 million in fiscal 1992. Much of that, some $ 870,000, came from reimbursing White for his relocation from New York to Orion’s Los Angeles offices. In addition, White picked up a $ 570,000 bonus under an employment agreement. White has been in the top spot since November 1992, holding interim titles since March of that year.
Billionaire John Kluge is chairman of the board and owns 50.1% of the new Orion shares. The company doesn’t have a standing compensation committee.
