Jamie Geller Hawtof, most recently a VP at Clein + White Public Relations, will be joining TriStar Pictures as VP, publicity, effective in mid-March.
She replaces Roger Armstrong, who vacated the post last July to attend law school (Daily Variety, July 14, 1992).
In the post, Geller will oversee all print and electronic publicity activities on TriStar’s movies and will assist in the strategy of positioning the studio’s films.
She reports directly to Ed Russell, senior VP of publicity, promotion and field operations.
Prior to TriStar, Geller served the last three years as VP of Clein + White, where she coordinated national publicity campaigns on a number of films, including John Turturro’s upcoming release “Mac,” Neal Jimenez and Michael Steinberg’s “The Waterdance,” and Jim Sheridan’s “The Field,” which earned Richard Harris an Oscar nomination for best actor.
Geller was also a unit publicist on such movies as Robert Altman’s “The Player” and Ernest Dickerson’s “Juice” and has worked with directors Tim Burton and James Cameron in addition to previously handling publicity for The William Morris Agency. She spent three years at MGM/UA as manager of national publicity.
