Alan Amman has been upped to senior VP of publicity, promotions and field operations for 20th Century Fox.
He succeeds Geoff Ammer, who last year left his post as senior VP of marketing after 12 years at Fox.
Amman, VP of field operations and promotions since July, will oversee national and field publicity as well as promotions.
The studio’s publicity department, including national publicity VPs Jasmine Madatian and Debbie Miller, will report to Amman.
Amman reports directly to domestic marketing prexy and executive VP Andrea Jaffe, as do Mike Kaiser, executive VP marketing/creative advertising, and Nancy Utley, executive VP of marketing, media and research.
Formerly at New Line
Amman was VP of field operations and promotions at New Line Cinema from 1990- 92.
While at New Line, he oversaw the campaigns of such pix as “Metropolitan, “”Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II,””House Party 2,””Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare,””The LawnmowerMan” and “Glengarry Glen Ross.”
He also held posts wtih Orion Pictures, Cineplex Odeon Films, Lorimar Film Entertainment, Diener/Hauser/Bates Advertising and MGM/UA Distribution.
