Arista issuing Signature One prod’ns direct to homevid

California distrib Arista Films has inked a deal with Signature One for six 35mm romance pix that will likely go straight to homevid, according to Arista’s exec veepee Gene George.

Deal includes B-movies such as “Passionata” with Larry Poindexter as a pianist rekindling an affair with Pamela Winslow, the wife of a high-level politician.

Tale– helmed by Sundance Institute directing fellow Christopher Shelton–will preem at the American Film Market.

“Passionata” was exec produced by Signature One’s Bill Hoffman, who says Arista was chosen as distrib “because they take the same meticulous care in releasing their films as we do in producing them.”

Sixpack also includes five pix in pre-production–romantic dramas “Flesh Tones,””In The Heat of Baja,””Secret of the Heart,””The Mysterious Stranger” and “The Colors of Desire.”
