Saban Entertainment has pacted with Majestic Entertainment and Triboro Entertainment for the U.S. homevid release of “Dream Date” starring Tempestt Bledsoe, Clifton Davis and Kadeem Hardison. Majestic (which recently formed a vid division under Robert Baruc) will handle marketing and Triboro (headed by Michael Holzman) will handle sales and distribution.Release to the rental market is skedded for March. Columbia TriStar Home Video has contracted with McCann-Erickson for media planning in the United States and Canada. Cabin Fever Entertainment and Billboard have allied to produce and distribute six compilation vidcassettes, focusing on southern rock and country music. Barr Entertainment has hired sales firm RepNet to represent its audio and video product lines. Move follows reorganization at Barr and installation of Cheryl Gersch as executive VP. Epic Home Video has created a label for straight-to-video features called “World Premiere.” Initial release is “Leather Jackets” with Bridget Fonda. Upcoming World Premiere titles will be John Travolta starrer “Eyes of an Angel” and Eric Roberts pic “The Ambulance.” J2 Communications has inked with Astral Video to distribute the J2 library of 125 special-interest titles in Canada.
