As a means to boost sell-through of “City of Joy,” Columbia TriStar Home Video is packaging the pic with older titles that celebrate the nation of India, including David Lean’s “A Passage to India.”Seven-pic pack hits outlets Aug. 4. Most titles are priced at $ 19.95, except “Gandhi,” with an epic pricetag of $ 29.95. Lesser-known titles include “The Courtesans of Bombay” and “Shakespeare Wallah,” about the collapse of British colonialism in modern India as seen through the eyes of two young lovers from different classes. “Hullabaloo Over Georgie and Bonnie’s Pictures” tells the tale of a Maharajah in contemporary India who owns a series of ancient paintings coveted by visiting art dealers. Slipped into the pack for Patrick Swayze fans is “Tiger Warsaw,” where Swayze plays a man ready to forget the past and start over with his old flame from high school (Barbara Williams).
