Schott, Irvine join Hearst co.

Hearst New Media & Technology head Alfred C. Sikes has brought aboard one of his former FCC aides, Charles G. Schott, as VP of the unit, also hiring Cella M. Irvine in the same capacity.

Schott served as the Federal Communications Commission’s chief of staff under Sikes from 1989-91 before becoming a consultant to communications clients at McKinsey & Co. in London. Both Schott and Irvine will report to Sikes, who is a VP of Hearst Corp. in addition to heading the new media and technology wing.

Irvine was most recently product manager in the electronic mail area at White Plains, N.Y.-based Prodigy Media Services.
