Nike, Wieden back Oregon showbiz sesh

Nike Inc. and Wieden & Kennedy, the ad agency behind the “Just Do It” ad campaign, will be the overall financial sponsors of the Portland Creative Conference: A Celebration of Film and Television.

The forum features professionals in the film, TV and ad industries sharing insights about their areas.

It will be held Sept. 16-18 at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts.

Speakers include actor Raul Julia; actor/writer/directors Buck Henry and Barry Primus; directors Gus Van Sant and Wes Craven; writer/director Michael Tolkin; writer/display graphics supervisor Michael Backes; screenwriter Amy Holden Jones; film editor Robert Leighton; producer Debra Hill; and film ad strategist Christopher Arnold.

Other sponsors include KPTV, Pacific Grip & Lighting, KINK-FM 102, Media Inc. , the Business Journal, Millimeter Magazine, Film & Video Magazine and Borders, Perrin & Norrander.
