Unhappy NABET editors picketed the Hollywood offices of the National Captioning Institute to protest what they say is the company’s failure to provide a reasonable contract.
A handful of editors carried signs for several hours Tuesday to show displeasure with the current contract.
Talks on the contract had broken down after a unanimous Aug. 13 vote to reject NCI’s last proposal. Two weeks later, the editors voted again unanimously to allow the National Assn. of Broadcast Employees & Technicians to call a strike if necessary.
NABET and NCI negotiators are scheduled to sit back down at the bargaining table Friday.
