Indie producer Lauren Lloyd has joined Hollywood Pictures as vice president of production.

She’ll oversee all aspects of development and production of features for the Walt Disney Co. film label, reporting to Hollywood prexy Ricardo Mestres.

In a statement, Mestres praised Lloyd’s “experience and creative instincts as a producer” and said she would play a key role in the studio’s production strategy.

Lloyd comes to Disney from her and Wallis Nicita’s Paramount-based partnership, Nicita/Lloyd Prods.

Films she produced include “Mermaids,””The Butcher’s Wife” and the upcoming Propaganda pic “Dream Lover” starring James Spader.

Before teaming with Nicita in 1987, Lloyd was an associate casting director with Marion Dougherty Associates.
