Jane Alexander tapped for NEA

The White House is expected today to name actress Jane Alexander as President Clinton’s nominee to head the National Endowment for the Arts.

Alexander is currently starring on Broadway in the Lincoln Center Theater production of “The Sisters Rosensweig.”

A spokesman for the theater company said that Alexander would not likely speak with the press about the appointment before Senate confirmation hearings.
