The Gersh Agency has sued Robert Duva, a former talent agent in its New York office, alleging he failed to renew client contracts so he could assume sole representation.
The agency claims Duva, who could not be reached for comment, left Gersh at the end of April and opened a competing talent agency. Shortly thereafter, the Gersh Agency received termination letters from nearly all clients Duva represented.
Gersh seeks compensatory and punitive damages under alleged claims for unfair competition, breach of contract and theft of corporate opportunities.
The lawsuit was filed Aug. 16 in New York Supreme Court in Manhattan.
