Gaylord Entertainment Co. posted a threefold increase in net income for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, a record. Profits jumped to $ 8.8 million from $ 2 .9 million.

Revenues for the period increased 11.5% to $ 160.5 million. For the year, net income skyrocketed to $ 29.4 million vs. $ 1.8 million. Revenues were up just 7% to $ 643.6 million.

The cable networks division saw operating cash flow increase 13.1% for fourth quarter 1992 on a 27.1% revenue increase. The entertainment division saw an 8% increase in revenues and 17.9% increase in operating cash flow in fourth quarter 1992. The broadcasting division posted an 18.4% increase in operating cash flow to $ 7.6 million in fourth quarter 1992.

Operating cash flow for the year was up 24.6% to $ 15.3 million from $ 12.3 million in 1991.

The cable television systems division posted a 3.5% increase in revenues and 5% increase in operating cash flow for the fourth quarter. The cable systems managed a 9.9% increase in operating cash flow for the year to $ 32 million.

Prism Entertainment Corp. said the Securities & Exchange Commission yesterday declared effective its registration statement covering an aggregate of 550,834 common shares to be sold by Batur Lake Inc. and Betula Holdings Inc. As reported , Prism filed a registration statement with the SEC Nov. 4 covering a secondary offering of 618,834 common shares. Prism said it will not receive any of the proceeds from the offering.
