Playboy Entertainment Group has reached an agreement with USA Network to air 26 half-hour episodes of its dramatic series “Eden.” USA will begin the series this summer with a two-hour telefilm special consisting of the first four episodes, Playboy said.

The series first aired in its “uncut” version on Playboy TV in November 1992. The move was received positively on Wall St., with Josephthal, Lyon & Ross analyst Dennis McAlpine initiating coverage with “buy” rating. Playboy’s stock was heavily traded, jumping 12.1% to close at $ 8.125.

Marvel Entertainment Group said it has formed a strategic alliance with Shogakukan Production Co. to promote Marvel properties in Japan. A company spokesman said that under the alliance Shogakukan initially will act as an agent for Marvel properties in Japan and eventually could publish Marvel comics there.

Federal Express Corp., in an agreement with Walt Disney Co., will become the official sponsor of the Space Mountain attraction at Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom ride at Walt Disney World Resort. The companies said Federal Express will also become the official express delivery service for the Disney parks in the U.S.
