FCC upholds kidvid fine

The FCC declined to reduce a $ 10,000 fine against a Florida TV station for violating advertising limits in children’s TV programming.

WTTA-TV, St. Petersburg, a relatively new station, was fined in January for exceeding rules limiting ads during kidvid hours to 10 1/2 minutes per hour on weekends and 12 minutes on weekdays.

The Federal Communications Commission rejected the argument by the Bay Television Inc.-owned station, that it lacked experience.
