The William Morris Agency is close to making a deal to bring high-profile book publisher Joni Evans aboard as a literary agent, sources say.
Evans, the former publisher of trade divisions at Random House and Simon & Schuster, most recently headed the Random House imprint Turtle Bay Books, which abruptly folded in February.
Evans has been considering numerous overtures from Hollywood and the publishing community.
Though sources say the deal isn’t complete, publishing insiders say Evans’ vast connections make her a major catch for the agency. Evans couldn’t be reached, nor could the WMA lit department.
