The Samuel Goldwyn Foundation Children’s Center, the non-profit, state-of-the-art child care facility exclusively for the children of parents working within the entertainment industry, will host its inaugural Kids Street Fair, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Sunday at Sepulveda Boulevard and Mississippi Avenue in West L.A.
The fair’s highlights will include appearances by the American Gladiators, Bugs Bunny, Captain Planet, Tom & Jerry, Tweety Bird and Woody Woodpecker, cartoonists Mell Lazarus and Sergio Aragones and a raffle.
In 1991, the Samuel Goldwyn Foundation built the Children’s Center and donated it to the Motion Picture & Television Fund.
The idea for a child care and educational facility for the entertainment industry was shared by several industry employers — the Samuel Goldwyn Co., HBO , Turner Entertainment, Creative Artists Agency and Capital Cities/ABC — who decided to create a center that could be used as the blueprint for other facilities within the entertainment industry.
All proceeds from Sunday’s event will benefit the Children’s Center. Admission is $ 2; kids under 10 are free. For more information, call (818) 224- 3863.
